Established in 2021 and seeded by the EQT Foundation, the philanthropic extension of EQT Corporation, the nation’s largest producer of natural gas, the GIVE Greene County Fund will be used to support Greene County nonprofits to be change-makers throughout the county. EQT Foundation has contributed $50,000 since the fund’s inception, and EQT CEO, Toby Rice, and his wife Aileen, have contributed more than $20,000 to the fund.
“This is a community effort,” said Ellen Rossi, President of the EQT Foundation. “We are proud to have seeded the fund and will make an annual contribution for the next several years, and we anticipate other business and community leaders will join us as well. And of course, we hope EQT leaseholders will support this initiative that will leave their fingerprints in Greene County forever.”
Contributions to the GIVE Greene County Fund are encouraged from all sources, but especially if you are a EQT landowner. EQT landowners are offered an opportunity to invest in the future of Greene County through an innovative royalty-withholding program, where, with landowner approval, a small portion of monthly royalties received by the landowner will be donated to the GIVE Greene Fund by EQT on the landowner’s behalf. The EQT Foundation will then match the amount donated by the landowner, up to $10,000, per lease for the first year of their participation. EQT leaseholders can download the form to enroll in the GIVE Greene campaign and take advantage of the EQT match opportunity here.
Grants from the Fund, which should commence in 2024, will be considered by a grants committee comprised of contributors to the Fund and community leaders. The GIVE Greene Fund will support any nonprofit providing charitable services in Greene County. The Community Foundation of Greene County (CFGC) will announce when the grant application process will open and associated deadlines.
