A grant writing workshop will be held in Waynesburg on September 6th by the Community Foundation of Greene County (CFGC).
Grantseeking Essentials is a seminar for staff and board members of nonprofit organizations and other interested individuals who want to learn how to prepare good proposals for funding their nonprofit projects.
The workshop will be held in the CFGC Foundation Room at 106 E. High Street, in Waynesburg from 9am to 12 noon.
According to Bettie Stammerjohn, Executive Director of the Foundation, the three hour seminar will help both aspiring and experienced grant writers learn how to prepare and write letters of inquiry and grant proposals for funding from foundations, corporations, and other private donors.
“Over the past year, several individuals and organizations expressed interest in learning more about the grant writing process but had limited time and financial resources to attend the workshops in Pittsburgh,” said Stammerjohn. “This seminar will help provide the nuts and bolts, practice for these individuals to become more comfortable with writing grants. It will also help others with more grant experience to hone their writing skills and learn new techniques.”
The workshop will be taught by Laurie Anderson, GPC, who has more than 25 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector. She was the Founding Manager of the Nonprofit Resource Center at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, as well as the executive director of two small nonprofit organizations and the Grants Manager for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. She has worked as the Grants & Special Projects Coordinator for the Allegheny County Library Association since 2014. Most recently she started a grant consulting business, L. Anderson Consulting, LLC. Laurie is a member of the Grant Professionals Association and received her Grants Professional Certification (GPC) last August.
There is a registration fee of $35 per person for the seminar. Space is limited to 24 participants.
